Let user be able to customize the keyboard shortcut
The situation is
- some user who use secondary language need to switch back to EN before they can use keyboard shortcut
- some use prefer to use Cmd+1, Cmd+2, Cmd+3 ,...
so it wound be better to let user customize the keyboard shortcut their own way
(including shortcut for each 1st - 3rd color of highlight and pen)

PDF Text Selection & Annotation Improvements
The ability to select text from PDFs and having the option to copy, highlight, strikethrough, underline, and define (dictionary, lookup, read).
The already existing annotation options on GoodNotes are good for freehand writing, but it would be GREAT if the annotations be “snapped” directly to the text!

Make square version of highlighter
Let the user choose if he wants a rounded or flat highlighter. It would make highlighting easy and allow other uses for highlighters that require a flat edge.

create your own handwritten font
It would be great if you could design your own font (create every single letter by yourself), and then have your fast (bad looking) handwriting converted into your carefully designed letters. That way it would guarantee beautiful handwriting even tough you are in a hurry.

Automatically transcribe audio recordings and choose whether or not to copy parts of the transcribed text into our notes
I work with both audio and text. For example, when I have a lecture recording, I listen to it but I also prefer to write it down because it makes it easier for me to go back to the information. I'm not able to write down everything because it's a lot to manage but I still get tired of doing it manually. I wish I had a tool that would transcribe the audio for me and I can just copy & paste the parts that I want into my notes. I'm thinking of how Youtube automatically adds subtitles to videos…

Collapsing Large Documents
When having lots of readings for classes such as philosophy and ethics, I think it would be useful to be able to import it into the notebook, but collapse it. Same with images. So, you see the little folder icon in the notebook, click on it, and it opens either the document or image in the full page, so that it's not taking up tons of pages on the notebook.

sync my files mannully
Hi, I find sometimes I could not get my files synced. When I launch the app, I sometimes have to wait for sync, which is waste of time. Especially when I use my device to modify my files, I shift to another device. It will do nothing and I really want a button or something like pull down to refresh to sync all my files manually. I think I could be useful, thanks.

Good Notes on Windows
I Personally have a Microsoft surface that has touchscreen and a pen. It was offered as a gift, and I don’t have the funds to buy a new device, so with that the features of goodnotes will be great of windows.

Organize GoodNotes Community files
It would be nice to be able to organize the notes I post on GoodNotes Community into folders (ex. by class or subject) so it’s easier to navigate a person’s profile

Scrolling through colors
I think you should be able to pick your top three most-used colors to be displayed but then have the ability to scroll for faster color change. Often times when I am taking notes in class, if I want to change colors, having to open the whole folder can get me behind. While this doesn't seem like a huge deal, in college-class note-taking, every second counts and even if you miss one small detail, it can cause issues. This would be really really really helpful!

Please enlarge undo button
I know gesture function for undo has already been introduced.
But,
I am grabbing pencil in right hand and ipad in left hand, I usually grab ipad for not to be shaken when I am writing, so I have no additional hand to do gesture!! Even need two finger double tap.Rather press undo button is fast and convinient. Eraser button is very useless for me that I have to press pen button again.
So to press undo button accurately is very important for me to use GoodNotes. But button is very small, even the slightest mislocation woudn’t work. To…

2 page scrolling view
It would be great if something like a 2 page scrollling view could be added so that when we scroll through PDF version of our notes, especially exported slides, a better overview of the set of notes could be seen. This is in comparision to what we have now, where we scroll through the document page by page. Going through each set of notes might take quite some time when there are many pages in a document.

Dyslexic coloured paper
Hiya, I’m dyslexic and find it easier to read and write on “gold” coloured paper, to be honest it looks more like orange but still!
Would love to see the ability to change the colour of the paper. (- unless there already is and I cant find it? Did try look on google but couldn’t find anything)

Add a Color Toolbar
I use a lot of different colors when I take notes. It helps me remember concepts better so I can color coat specific ideas. As of now, it is a real inconvenience having to click twice to change my color if it’s not already one of my 3 pre-selected colors. Sure, it’s just an extra tap, but since I change colors so frequently (sometimes multiple times on a single sentence), it ends up being really inconvenient. Pencil support in Flashcard mode
Flashcards are a great way to learn.
But when studying topics that are more complicated than vocabulary it would be very helpful to be able to write down the answer before checking if it was correct. (For example mathematical derivations). Writing the answer also helps with learning.My idea is that the flashcard screen shows two flashcards: One with the question (like it already does) and one, that is blank. Lock pages
The app is amazing. I just got it today BUT I can think of a feature that would be very useful - locking individual pages so that you can’t write on it until you unlock it. I’m a very clumsy person and I always end up accidentally writing/drawing on things on accident even when I am done with them.
I see a request to lock all pages but I would also like the function to lock them individually so that I finish them I don’t put something on there that I don’t want.29 votes -

Set the eraser default to the smallest size
Every time I select the eraser tool, it defaults to the largest size. So I end up erasing more than I want to, and then have to undo accidental erasures and then set the eraser to smaller size. I should be able to set the smallest eraser as default size to begin with. I love Goodnotes, but erasing is so common, this is getting to be an important usability issue.
