global search engine (-> searching for keyword in EVERY document)
you can do that on the pc (-> pdf xchange viewer) or on mac (spotlight search): if you enter a keyword it gives you a list of every page your word appears on, which is an incredible feature for learning with e.g. your universties pdfs.
goodnotes offers you the chance to look for a word within ONE pdf file, but there's no global search engine - which I believe is a feature a lot of people would appreciate!!
(no other ipad app has this, so be the first ;) )

Have this search not be just one word, it’s quite hard to find what you’re looking for if you have that word in 100+ documents. I need to be able to search minimum three words together. Additionally, it’s even harder if you’re not able to select within which folder would you like to search this up? Because the same word could be in multiple classes but I only care for the ones in Cardiology not in Anatomy.

I would Love a function, where you can
search words within all categories. This is the ONLY Thing I don‘t like about GoodNotes 4 -

Definitely needed if this is going to become a "go to" note application.

I will like to see an update to the search feature whereby it is placed in the toolbar menu. In this way, it will be faster click and type information you're looking for much easier than going to the options menu. I use the search option in great excess and it could save time.

It will be very nice to have the option to search between categories. I have a lot of them and it's very painfull to search the right one by hand. Thanks

I fully support and encourage you to please add a Global Search Feature to GoodNotesApp. Searching for a keyword across multiple PDF documents, across multiple categories.

"Search for documents" is not useful -- these can be seen and quickly visually identified. Search within all documents, at the same location, would be. OneNote has this.
You'll probably need to pre-index handwriting to make this fast depending on how quick your OCR engine is.

When importing a new document to a notebook, it would be really helpful to be able to search for a file name. Maybe even allow to begin typing the first few letters of the file name to narrow down the search. When I import from Dropbox, I find myself scrolling and scrolling (and scrolling) to find my document. Thanks!

All my tutorial sessions are in one notebook. When I do a search, it goes through all the sessions which is very good. However, the Search appears to lock up the pages, which means I have to come out of Search, scroll to find the next page in the Search, then open Search again. I would like to be able to scroll through all the pages that the Search has found without coming out of Search all the time.

I'm not sure how to vote but this really has my vote!! I've used quite a few other programs and they all seemed to have some sort of global search feature. Other than that I love this program.

This is a glaring miss for the app. Nearly every other quality. One taking app support a global search including hand written notes.

I understand that global search is coming, but that is not my request. I'd like for Search to be a dedicated icon when inside of a document, instead of behind a pop-over menu. It's a common enough action that I think it deserves its own spot.
Also, don't shy away from icons! A lot of those options would be way more glanceable if they had some icons for them. Simple text is boring and so iOS 7-y.

A great feature would be to be able to do a global keyword search through all of your notebooks.

This is the single biggest issue with GoodNotes and is the only thing I can think of that would make me switch to another note taking software. The moment one comes along which does global full-text search, I will switch.

In the global file search, it does not appear that it searches within the folders. So, it seems that you have to be in the folders themselves to search for key words or the documents themselves. In Notability, there is a function to see all files in the master list and search from there. That master list has all files that are categorized within the individual folders and dividers.

I have a single notebook for all meetings and use bookmarks. Thus, the ability to search the bookmarks would be very helpful
