global search engine (-> searching for keyword in EVERY document)
you can do that on the pc (-> pdf xchange viewer) or on mac (spotlight search): if you enter a keyword it gives you a list of every page your word appears on, which is an incredible feature for learning with e.g. your universties pdfs.
goodnotes offers you the chance to look for a word within ONE pdf file, but there's no global search engine - which I believe is a feature a lot of people would appreciate!!
(no other ipad app has this, so be the first ;) )

Yes, searching through many pages under the search results gets very tedious!
Let's be more specific.
1 - We want to search with tokens and booleans. This will give us specific targets to obtain.
2 - Also, can we have the capability of moving the search results out of the way so that we can see the whole page. These types of searches are common among many applications, Sales Force for one. Here is an example of the direction I would hope we could take and Goodnotes could enhance accordingly.
...options.search...
Use quotes(") to find a specific word. "things"
Use quotes and a boolean to find a specific phrase. "things AND to"
More: "things to do", "03.15.2017", "things AND to AND do AND 03.15.2017". -

full-text search for the app - in order to screen the text for key words...

This was asked for almost 2 years ago -> Please could you give us an idea of a timeline as it has an impact on whether I will continue working with Goodnotes. Thank you.

I agree. That would be very useful

Need to be able to search all documents in goodnotes, not just the folder you are in. At least have the option to do it.

I often include scans of handwritten paper notes and it's annoying to not be able to search these like you can with the notes you wrote in GoodNotes.

I recently downloaded good notes and love most everything about it. However, one feature I would like to see refined is the search feature. I created several folders and realized the only way to search is to be within one of the folders. In the near future is there anything in the works where you could search across all folders? Penultimate uses that system and it makes it much more convenient to find a note, otherwise I am just guessing as to what folder the key word appears in. Please take this into consideration, and let me know if this will be brought to an update soon within the iPad Pro. I want to be able to continue using good notes, but not being able to search a word across folders/sub folders is a big deal.

I use GoodNotes for meetings and I would love to be able to search all documents so that I can cross reference.

Search can be done only within a category. It will be nice to search all categories.

Glad to see this is planned but this a huge deal for me. I have to break down my GoodNotes documents around the 200 page mark because the load time of the document when I open it is very slow, as is page scrolling. But I wouldn't make documents so long when taking notes if I could search between multiple documents. Thanks in advance.

I agree with this (techdistortion.com/articles/good-notes) article:
"Handwriting search being restricted to the open workbook only is honestly my biggest gripe"

They seriously still haven't done this?!

Updated search feature should also include check box, to show "pages with notes only".

Never mind this ... I found it; just hadn't swiped down to reveal the search & sort. Love it.

I use GoodNotes for editing PDF editions of books & short stories, and have a lot of notes, even within categories. It would save me a lot of time if I could search by name and/or keyword to find a specific note rather than having to scroll through to find the one I want.
A sort option (alphabetical and date, etc.) would also be handy.

Agreed, lack of global search is holding the application back.

I originally organized my sales prospects with one notebook for each month of leads and a bookmark for the customer's name. I truly need to be able to find them much later and a Bookmark search from outside the notebook would do the trick

Very high interest in global search. The more i use this app, the more pressing is the need for better organization and search tool.
Btw, I know of at least one other notes app that allows global search. -
